16th June Shaun Turnor Memorial Charity Disco at Worlingworth Village Hall

DJ DoubleTrouble also likes to do Charitable work and this disco i did for free in aid of Cancer research. Shaun Turnors family and friends all met up at the jet station in Framlingham. There were lots of smart cars. We headed out in convoy to worlingworth so everyone could find their way to the venue. (thank God the police werent about. lol) We got there at 1230pm and set up outside the village hall. I was so glad that the weather was good, was a bit windy but thankfully this didnt affect the set up too much. I have done outside discos before. The main important point of outside discos is sound quality and having good speakers. The sound needs to fill the wide open space and be able to cope with background noise. I did a basic set up with no lights as it was daytime and it was too windy. I just had my star cloth on the front of my disco. The speakers were placed on the ground rather than on poles so there was no danger of them blowing over. I played a good mixture of music and tried to use a lot of summer hits to go with the outside venue. There were mainly people aged 20 – 30 at the disco. The day was a whole event of bbq food football match stock car racing raffle and various other stalls. It wasnt just me at the venue, it was a whole day of fun and raising money for Cancer Research. For this reason there wasnt much dancing at all, I was there to provide music as people enjoyed the events of the day. Even so, several people took disco cards from me and this was a great oppertunity to advertise DJ DoubleTrouble for those at the event. I finished at 5pm but the event carried on into the evening with more entertainment.
